River Silks Silk Ribbon come in 4 and 7 millimeter sizes. iver Silks - Over Dyed Silk Ribbons - Premium 100% silk ribbon. Ribbon is available in 4mm (1/8in) and 7mm (1/4in). Each card contains 5.5 yards. There is no fraying, running or snagging with these fine silk ribbons. There are a rainbow of colors to choose from.
There are several sizes of needles used for cross stitch and embroidery. They are generally referred to as tapestry needles and they have a blunt end. They are also made of a variety of metals, including nickel, gold and platinum. The nickel needles are the most widely available and the cheapest needle. Gold and platinum are special. The platinum are the most sturdy with the smoothest finish and last the longest. Gold is the next best and then nickel. The size of your needle depends on the count of your fabric. If you are using a fabric count of 14, 28, and 30 use a size 24 tapestry needle. If you are using fabric count of 16, 18, 32, or 35, 40 use a size 26 needle. Larger counts use a size 28 needle.
