jade stone and many more. 14 count Aida is a very easy
fabric to use and works well with most cross stitch designs. Use
our

Stitch Tips
You
will need a tapestry needle that is the correct size for your fabric and
floss. There are several types of tapestry needles, including
nickel plated, gold
and platinum varieties as well. I prefer platinum needles because
of their strength and the way they glide through the fabric as you
stitch.

New look
at Julie's Cross Stitch
We have a great new look at Julie's
Cross Stitch. Come and see our new design. We had fun
creating a sewing theme with our graphics.
What's
new?
We have been very busy adding new products to our store. In
addition to the huge assortment of cross stitch supplies, we also offer
many Swedish Weaving and Hardanger supplies.
Swedish
Weaving
Swedish
Weaving or Huck Embroidery is a type of surface stitching. The
needle and floss never pierce the back of the fabric. It is an
easy, fun, quick way to decorate many household items like pillows,
towels, placemats, table cloths and runners, curtains and just about
anything else you can think of. I have added several
patterns
and fabrics to my store that are perfect for Swedish Weaving.

Hardanger
Hardanger
is a type of embroidery that was made popular in the Hardanger region of
Norway. It is a combination of satin stitch, drawn work, cut
work, white work, needle weaving, and even cross stitch.
Fabrics for Hardanger:

Lugana 25 count (also 28 or 32)

New 25 count Lugana
fabrics
I have added several new colors of 25 count Lugana fabric to my cross
stitch supplies this month. Some of the great colors available are
deep magenta, dark cobblestone, stone gray, purple passion, Lt. Orange
Rust and more. Lugana is suitable for cross stitch, Hardanger, and
many other needlework projects. It is a heavy fabric and it drapes well.
Lugana is an even weave fabric made from cotton and rayon blends.

Caron Collection Floss
We
have recently added all of the
Caron Collection Watercolours floss to our cross stitch supplies.
This is a very versatile floss. The variegated colors blend subtly into
each other without drastic changes. One ply of Watercolours is about
the same weight as a number 5 pearl cotton floss. This is a great floss
for Hardanger and Swedish Weaving. It can also be used for needlepoint,
cross stitch, tatting, darning, knitting, crochet and crewel.

What is Julie working on?
I have been working on several Hardanger pieces in the last few months.
I have also done a few Swedish Weaving projects as well. The top
one is a Hardanger project. It was stitched on Dark Chocolate 25
count Lugana fabric with Peacock Caron Collection Wildflowers floss.
The bottom picture is a Swedish Weaving project on Stockholm fabric
(Driftwood) with Caron Collection Impressions floss.
We
have a new
Pinterest page.
Pinterest is a great place to see cross stitch, Hardanger and Swedish
Weaving products, cross stitch fabric, craft ideas and other
interests that we have. It is a lot of fun.
Face Book
We have our own Face Book page for Julie's X Stitch now. It's a
great place to see pictures of all the projects I am working on, and
ones I have finished as well. Keep up with the latest news from
our store and the most recent products. Participate in our poles
