DMC Pearl Cotton floss is is a highly mercerized, non-divisible, lustrous 100% cotton thread.  It is soft and silky and does not fluff or kink when you are stitching.  It is also colorfast.  Size 5 pearl cotton is available in 5 colors (49 yard ball).   Size 8 comes in 206 solid and 18 variegated colors (87 yard ball), and size 12 comes in 40 colors (131 yard ball).  The floss is made in France.
